E-mail to a friend | Two of Rowan County's long-standing insurance agencies have announced a merger to establish the Fisher-Greene Insurance Agency.
JE Fisher Insurance Agency and Greene Insurance Agency have merged to form the new agency. Jim Greene and John Fisher had talked aboutforming an agency that could better serve customers for years, and now that process is complete.
"With the merging of our agencies, we have an excellent opportunity to serve our customers better," said Greene, founder of the formerGreene Insurance Agency. "We have each pinpointed our strongest attributes as businesses and pulled our resources together to establish a highly-productive agency with our customers'best interests in mind."
The agency is in a partnership with Keystone Insurers Group. The former JE Fisher Insurance Agency has been a member of Keystone since 2004.
"By partnering with Keystone, we will be provided with the resources to realize tremendous efficiencies of scale, a significant position of strength in the insurance market, comprehensive products, and the most competitive pricing," said Fisher, president of the former JE Fisher Insurance Agency.
Fisher traces his roots in insurance to 1914, when Jacob Eli Fisher Sr. created a family-operated insurance business. John Fisher became president of the agency in 1977.
Roy and Jim Greene founded Greene Insurance Agency in 1977.

The service is free but the salon encourages donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Owen attended West Rowan High School and played American Legion Baseball.
Prior to his appointment, Owen completed a 34-year career with state government, including serving as state forester with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the N.C. Forest Service.
